The Origin of Northern Moti
Northern Moti was born from a love that started long before I ever thought of it as a business. I grew up in India surrounded by jewelry. My father came from a jewelry background, and even as a kid, I was always the one admiring every piece and noticing every little detail. That love eventually led me to train for six months in a jewelry factory, where I learned the craft up close. It was there that I first felt it. This wasn't just something I loved, it was something I was meant to do.
When I moved to Canada, I started going to weddings, baby showers, and functions here, and I noticed something. The jewelry just didn't carry the same sparkle, the same soul, that I grew up with in India. That's when it hit me. I already had the skills, the eye, and the connections back home, so why not bring that here?
That thought became Northern Moti.
I started working closely with karigars (artisans) based in Jaipur, the same skilled hands behind some of the most beautiful jewelry in India. I personally select every piece, one by one, with care. For some designs, I even sketch out my own vision and have them handcrafted exactly the way I imagine, including our handmade brass purses and clutches, made to bring timeless elegance to every occasion.
